If you’ve clicked on this post, then I’m sure that you’re here because you’re tired of hearing the same thing over and over again: that when it comes to makeup, subtlety is the way to go. Weird nail art, super-bright colours, and exaggerated makeup have always caught controversy wherever they go, but if it’s got heads turning then that’s all that matters! Throw away the rules and nail that look, sister! So, If you’re wondering how to add that extra oomph to your style then keep on reading.
13 Beauty Looks To Stand Out
This beauty trend has definitely caught on in 2019 and am I loving it? Absolutely. This look is perfect for a night out, and if you really want all eyes on your then match your liner with a neon dress and neon nail polish. Have a neon night!
Liner? Again?! Your eyes are the first place that people are drawn to when they look at you. A trick to widen and brighten your eyes is to use white eyeliner on both your waterline and your upper lash line. I’d pair with an all-black outfit and black nails just to emphasize the contrast.
I promise this is the last one! When scrolling through my feed on Instagram, the double liner look definitely caught my eye. To get this look, sweep your eyes with a beige eyeshadow. Then, use a liquid black liner to line your eyes as close to the upper lash line as possible. Create a wing. Next, use a white eyeliner pencil to follow the shape of the black liner and create a line on top. Finish off your look by lining your lower lash line with the white pencil and voila, you’re good to go!
Try colours like electric blue, teal, navy blue and royal blue and pair with winged eyeliner and nude nails and you have got your look!
Why settle for the stereotypical when you can experiment with texture. If you’re new to this, I’d suggest trying out glitter nail polish or add a bit of sparkle by applying some loose glitter over smooth nail polish. Or another way to add texture is to apply some detailing to your polish such as silver studs, microbeads, and diamond shapes. If you’re feeling a little bit on the weird side then you should definitely try furry nails. Paint your nails a neutral colour and then press fur on to your nails whilst it’s still drying.
Just to add a little more blue to your life, blue wigs are raging on Instagram. I first saw this look worn by Stefflon Don in Wiley’s song, Boasty. She donned a long icy blue coloured wig and set the tone with blue eyeshadow and a nude lip. This look is definitely on my bucket list of hair trends to try.
Instead of just opting for your usual nail look, during your next visit to your local nail salon, get some nail art done. A couple of ideas: whilst the warm weather lasts, get a scoop of some ice cream nail art ideas. They look absolutely delicious! Or you could try some geometric designs like little triangles or even an optical illusion will really have people wanting to get a closer look. If the first two are not your style, then you can never go wrong with stripes!
There are so many ways to rock rhinestones, whether it’s for a festival or a night out, rhinestones add flair to your makeup look. There are loads of different ways to try out this look. You can replace eyeliner with an assortment of rhinestones across your upper lashline. Make your highlight pop by adding a few rhinestones on top. Frame your eyebrows with a couple of rhinestones. You can try all of these or just one, it’s up to you!
3D Nail Art
Let’s take it to another level and try some 3D nail art. This look is brought to life by applying a range of nail art material to your fingers. One dazzling example is aquarium nails, they’re tiny snow globes worn on the tip of your fingers. They can be created with a hollow acrylic nail, and it gets filled with glitter, baby oil and if you want, you can add a picture of anything you like.
Floating Eyeliner Flick
This look is characterised by a sharp flick of coloured liner in the crease of the eye. This avant-garde makeup idea looks gorgeous on Maddi Ziegler in this Instagram post: https://www.instagram.com/p/B1CnaoggE4s/. This look would be great with a neon liner too.
This beauty look is hauntingly melancholy and beautiful. It was graced by Lucy Boynton on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/B2ShzBgJxFS/. The glitter is packed on into the shape of a tear under her eyelids bringing out her deep grey eyes. This look is definitely one that should be saved for the festivals.
Not in your usual browns and golds though, pack your lids with bold orange eyeshadow, lime green, or a citrusy yellow colour. This beauty look does not need a liner to stand out, instead just apply some fake lashes and some bold fake nails.
Rainbow Eye Art
Why stick to one hue when you can use several. I would master this look with the James Charles Artistry Palette which contains all the colours of the rainbows. Make sure to blend all of your colours in. This look just screams positive vibes and childhood memories.
These beauty looks are definitely unique and maybe even a little weird but experimenting with beauty through makeup and nails is a fun pastime.
