What our customers say
We’re rated the best nail salon near Poplar by our customers
Poplar is a district in East London, England, and is the administrative centre of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, and is a part of the East End and the Port of London. A great place to go if you are a fan of contemporary Japanese cuisine. A boast a number of popular attractions which include Chrisp Street Market. Billingsgate Market. Cineworld. Il Bianco. Burger & Lobster. Museum of London Docklands.
Poplar was pretty much wiped out during the Second World War but has since then been the chosen as the destination of Live Architecture Exhibition, which is designed to demonstrate the power of architecture and town planning to transform the country in the post war years. This is held in Lansbury Estate, named after the local hero George Lansbury who led the Labour Party from 1932 to 1935.
In the area, Chrisp Street Market remains one of London’s most lively street markets with its distinctive clock tower; it forms the heart of this solidly working-class neighbourhood.
Poplar, with its estates of council housing is only a 10minute stroll from Canary Wharf’s office block. So there is no surprise of private development and the influx of young professionals.
There are also plans happening for the regeneration of Chrisp Street Market.
Both the market itself and the Festival of Britain architecture will be retained but joint venture developers Telford Homes and Poplar Harca propose the creation of 650 new homes and a new supermarket, along with a much-needed cinema.
Our manicure tips, tricks, trends…
Our research shows an incredible increase in demand for Chrome nails and it is really trending. It’s sometimes known as mirror nails or glass nails and this trend is all about shiny, reflective and metallic nails. The look is usually achieved by mainly using powder, metallic nail wraps or a chrome nail polish and they are the ultimate statement on a night out.
One method is to apply a double layer of gel polish and then cure under UV light to dry instantly between each coat. A clear gel top coat is then applied and cured again to finish of the gel look. Your nail tech will then apply the chrome powder buff each nail until the metallic look appears.
The loose extra powder is then brushed away and a top coat is applied to secure the powder and the chrome shine. The nails are then cured and your new set of chrome look is ready!
